To whom it may concern,

 I am writing this letter on behalf of my company.  My name is Jared Johnson, and I am a Customer Care Representative with Shea Homes in San Diego, Ca.  I would like to comment on the outstanding business practices displayed by ALM Window and Door Inc that I have personally benefited from through working with them.

            Being that I am in the Customer Service Department, I get to work with all our (Shea Homes) various Trade Partners on a daily basis.  Good customer service is a key component in our industry, and is vital to maintain and build relationships with our homeowners.  ALM raises the bar when it comes to customer service!  They are always on schedule with any items that I may be working with them on and I can depend on them to get the job done the right way, not the “quick and easy” way.  Time and time again, my homeowners are telling me how professional and courteous the service techs are when work is being done. The type of customer service ALM provides strengthens Shea’s relationship with our homeowners. When it comes to customer service, Shea Homes sets very high standards that many trades don’t or won’t meet, but ALM is a committed, loyal trade partner that is always willing to take that extra step for our homeowners, exceeding their expectations!

            In order for me to do my job effectively and help Shea Homes be a successful company, I must have good communication with my trade partners.  With 120 homes in my community to manage, I require all my trades to communicate with me weekly regarding any open issues in the community.  Out of all my trades, ALM is the only one that sends me a status report at the beginning of each week informing me on all items scheduled out for that week.  This proactive approach creates a more efficient work environment and actually reminds me of certain things that I need to do during the week.  ALM is constantly informing me on any updates or changes to appointments/service calls.  This is just another way that ALM is 100%, fully committed to Shea Homes.

            ALM is a company that stands behind the products they supply.  They are diligent in researching products for superior quality and they do not falter when problems arise.  In fact when problems do come up, ALM is always eager to help in finding solutions and making the correct changes/repairs where needed to eliminate the same problem from happening in the future. 

            The foundation of a successful company must have good ethics and sound integrity.  ALM embodies both of these while at the same time going above and beyond the call of duty, surpassing high standards and expectations which is what I believe to be an integral part to their success.  THANK YOU ALM!!!

 The purpose of this letter is to nominate ALM Window & Door Inc. for the “2005 BBB Torch Award”.  

 I have personally worked with Annette Legaspi, President of ALM Window & Door Inc. for almost 10 years.  Over the years we have worked on a number of projects such as attached & detached communities, the Tour House, our internal Shea Culture training, and the remodel of my own home.

 ALM from the very beginning has always strived to be the best in all categories.  From the quality of their products and installation, their customer service and communication, to their pro-active problem solving and uncompromising ethics and integrity, ALM Window & Door truly represents and models the finest in American success stories.

 As a new home builder, having a TradePartner like ALM means having one less thing to worry about.  Not only in providing high quality products like the Anlin dual glazed vinyl windows & doors which exceed all industry standards in quality, efficiency, durability & warranty, but the installation as well.  Double caulking, double the flashing and even tacking up the top flashing while the caulking dries to ensure a pocket doesn’t form which could potentially cause a future window leak.

 ALM is an active member of our Trade Council, working to ever improve the relationship between builder & trade contractor.   On several occasions Annette has spoken to our new hires at Shea Culture training about the value of trade partnering. 

 For the last 3 years that Shea has participated in the Junior Achievement bowl-a-thon, ALM has been right there with us, sponsoring our bowlers.

 These are only a few of the reasons why I believe that ALM Window & Door Inc. rightly deserves the “2005 BBB Torch Award”.

To whom it may concern,

           I have personally worked with ALM Window and Door as one of our TradePartners™ for 5 years. The one thing that stands out most in my mind about this company is their ongoing commitment to quality and customer service. It is this commitment that allows me to continually support of having their company on our jobsites and using them as our benchmark when evaluating other companies. The owners Annette and Ross are always proactive in solving any problems they foresee or we may have and any problems are always short lived.

            With the recent purchase of an older home my wife and I decided the aluminum single pane windows were not doing their job in our hot East County climate. Replacing windows is quite an investment so we began looking at different retrofit manufacturers and installers. After getting a couple of quotes I thought I would see if ALM did retrofits of their Anlin Window that I love so much in the homes my company builds.  Although the windows cost a little more than some of the other quotes I got, I am glad I went with ALM and their Anlin Windows. The installation of 7 windows and 2 sliding glass doors was quick and required no damage to my stucco or drywall. Now with the windows installed the temperature in my house is so much easier to control and the reduction in sound transmission when the windows are closed is incredible.

            I look forward to the continued win-win relationship I have with ALM and to their continued industry success.
